It is always a good idea to take the chance to discover Palma, the tourist capital of the Mediterranean.  Its sea front is very well known. At one end, it is presided over by the peculiar Bellver Castle, from where you can see an imposing view of the city. At the other is the beautiful Gothic cathedral. In the city you can see works by universally recognised artists like Gaudí or the Mallorcan Miquel Barceló. But the real surprise for visitors is the spectacular old quarter of the city, where many civilisations and architectural styles have left their mark.
